I’m always on the hunt for the perfect gift. My parents and in-laws are hard to shop for because they want nothing. But every year, they do ask for photos. About a year ago I decided to make pictures the main part of their gift, not just a photo stuck into the card, but nicely framed/matted and printed on the best paper. I took the time to set up a photo shoot of my little one and of our family. You know what? The gifts were a hit!
Now, this is something I practice seasonally, for the winter holidays & mother’s day. Photos really are the perfect gift for Grandparents; our kiddos change and grow so fast that it allows them to “be there” even when they may not live close. I’ve gotten so much out of this too, of course as a photographer I take lots of photos, but I wasn’t taking to set up a shoot of my own child and family. Now, I have a wonderful collection of candid moments and more formal pictures that document my little one and our family throughout the year.
During this little experiment, I’ve had friends express wishes that they could do the same for their own families, but just don’t have the time.
This is where I can help, as a photographer I take time to plan each session, including wardrobe; I have searched high and low for the best prints, canvases, and frames. Let me do the work for you and you will be the one with the wonderful gifts for yourself or that special family member!
My children’s portrait sessions make it easy for parents to capture the personality of their child and to choose artwork to hang at home and gift to their family.
Each session is a mix of lifestyle and posed shots, and I do not force smiles; although most times they appear easily. I capture your child’s personality.
The way they look when they’re about to tell a joke, the way she looks when talking about Frozen, or the way he giggles when talking about bodily functions.
I worked for several years as an early childhood music teacher, children’s performer, and as a nanny.
Because of my background, I find it easy to connect with most children and enjoy the process of creating photos with them for you to treasure.
I’d love to learn more about your family! Send me a message and let’s start planning your little one’s portrait session today!
